The Hike
After a long, great, scary-because-climate-change-is-going-to-kill-as-all hot summer, autumn has finally arrived. And so it was time to go and do another hike. I wanted to explore a bit more of the forest that literally lies at our doorsteps, so I looked around the world wide webs and found this interesting looking hike, roughly 30min away from us.
Basically it is following along two creeks, one of them with two beautiful waterfalls, the other one a beautiful narrow, winding and adventurous looking path (where apparently water spirits reside…). More historically, both paths lead water to the villages and the Romans appear to have used and shaped this somehow.
For the hike though, all paths were really maintained, a bit of mixed weather (some rain, some short stints of sunshine) and a autumn-y 10 degrees.
High Points
The lush green in green. All plants still have their leaves and are soaking in the water they’ve been missing so long during summer. I really missed this type of green in Australia, gum-trees are just not as pretty :)
Also some of the fruit trees along the hike still have some of their fruit - tasty! :)
Low Points
Really not a lot to complain… maybe next time go a bit more early to get some of that morning mist. Or take a tent and stay overnight? I really need to get out more while I can!
