Tarra-Bulga - Bridges in the lush rainforest
The Hike
A few weeks ago I saw an article (can’t find it anymore) about Terra Bulga. When a friend suggested going for another hike, this immediately came to mind, so I proposed to check it out.
It was quite a “long” (3h) drive from home, and ironically right before the scenic route 94 with all this beautiful forest, there is the big Loy Yang power plant. Stark contrast!
The weather was nice, the sun was shining but it wasn’t just crazy hot. Tracks were generally maintained all right but some of the paths could do with some trimming and chainsawing :)
But that just added to the immersive nature experience, in-between all these tall trees, ferns and mosses. And the really cool suspension bridge (as well as the “bridge of divorce”).
Good chats, nice exercise, great weather and a tasty lunch afterwards.
A good day.
High Points
The intense lush ferns, the rain forrest canope, the birds singing and the blue sky peeking through. Picture book!
Low Points
Emi got attached by a leech. Lucky that was the only such incident.
